Bouta, Alfred C. "Bud" age 93, of Maple Grove, passed away on Feb. 6, 2020. Preceded in death by wife, Mary Margaret; son, Dennis; daughter, Mary Ann; grandson, Brian; and long-time friend, Lily Nelson. He was born in Benson, MN and grew up in a depression era setting with a large family who remained close throughout their lives. He joined the Army immediately following school, where he served in the Philippines. Shortly after his return to Minnesota he met and ultimately married his beloved wife of 53 years. He had a successful career in the engineering field. His professional experience served him well in his personal life as there was hardly a thing that he couldn't fix or build. His life was best defined by the tireless care he provided to Margaret throughout her life. His large extended family was the greatest source of pride to him and the loss of two of his children, the greatest sadness. Very active until his final few months, his daily bike rides to and from his coffee visits at McDonalds earned him the affectionate moniker "Bicycle Bud" from many. He is survived by children, Bonny (Ron) Paetznick, Bruce (Anne), Jerry (Laurie); daughter-in-law, Julie; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson on the way; sister, Phyillis Weber; many nieces, nephews and friends, especially his pals from McDonalds and Applewood Pointe. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to NEAR Food Shelf of Crystal, MN.
