Art graduated from the University of Minnesota with a mechanical engineering degree. He was a talented athlete and played football, basketball, and baseball. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army during Korean War and was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Richardson, Alaska. Art was a mechanical engineer and designed and sold castings for 44 years at Minneapolis Electric Steel Castings Company. At the age of 70, he rebuilt the family cabin with help from all his family. Art loved his family most of all and went on many trips with Hilda, his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, traveling many parts of this world to hunt and fish. Going to the cabin and family vacations meant the world to him. He never missed any of his kids or grandkids activities or sports games. He was a mainstay behind the goal at all of the hockey games he attended. Memorials can be made to the Lake Minnewawa Association or donor's choice. Art's laughter and hugs were the best! The love Art gave to his family will remain in our hearts always. We'll love you forever Pappy!
