Hotchkiss, Nancy Ann Age 79, of Bloomington, MN. Began her celestial journey on January 17, 2020. Born in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Nancy is survived by her beloved son, Philip (Sherry) and her cherished grandchildren, Sabrina and Nathan. Nancy graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, and was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Taught in Minneapolis and was a reserve teacher in the Bloomington Public Schools for many years. Volunteered teaching art at Kenwood School in Minneapolis for 11 years and loved seeing the students respond with creativity and enjoyment. Nancy loved art and was a talented impressionist painter. She was a passionate gardener. The garden became her outdoor canvas in the spring and summer with many beautiful birds providing a melodic background. Nancy actively traveled the world, including a courageous Road Scholar trip to St. Petersburg, Russia (2017), and attended live theater and musical performances every chance she could get. Nancy was a longtime member of AAUW, Gustavus board member of the GLA (Gustavus Library Association), former member of the Bloomington Fine Arts Council, Mt. Olivet Flicka Circle and MIA friends. Celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 3rd at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419. Visitation one hour prior to service. Memorials are preferred to the family, they will be distributed by the family to these organizations: AAUW-Property Preservation Dedicated Fund, MacPhail Center for Music and Mt. Olivet Cathedral of the Pines.
