Christenson (Stolee), Dorothy E. 95, died Jan. 14, 2020. Family was the very core of Dottie's life. She was our amazing angel of a mom, and we've been the blessed recipients of her love and spirit. Dottie was a gentle soul, who shared her warmth, humility and her wonderful sense of humor with all of us. She treasured her lifelong friendships from her earliest days in Kenyon to business school in Minneapolis, neighbors in Richfield, Edina and Grand Rapids. She was an avid gardener and designer, and enjoyed sewing, golf, skiing, travel, and baking. She spent many years volunteering in her church and community and honored her Norwegian heritage and Lutheran faith throughout her entire life. She reveled in watching her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and great grandchildren grow and flourish. She is survived by Jill (Patrick) Laughlin, Tom (Dawn) Christenson, and Anne (Tom) Wilder and her grandchildren Grady, Meghan, Kyle and Lia. She was predeceased by her parents Martin and Clara Stolee, husband Phillip Christenson, infant son Bruce Christenson, sisters Amy Jacobson, Mae Vanderboss, and Blanche Sandeno and brother James Stolee. Her family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to each of the devoted staff and volunteers at Brookdale Edina Memory Care and Brookdale Hospice for providing the compassionate daily care that enriched and sustained Dottie's life. We also wish to recognize and thank the Bluebirds and Blooms volunteers who brightened Dottie's days with beautiful flowers. The myriad memories Dottie made will be cherished forever. She will be greatly missed by all of us. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Memorial Service summer 2020.
