Jansson, Altrene Elaine Passed away on January 12, 2020, shortly after her 87th birthday. The heavenly choirs have gained a talented organist and bell player. Born in Lincoln, NE, she was a 60+ year resident of Wayzata and Plymouth, Minnesota, before joining the local Meridian Manor community 4 years ago. Altrene, a Christian, served the Lord as an active member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Plymouth. She was the church organist for 20 years, played in the bell choir for 25 years, did church lock-up for 10 years and was a church secretary for several years. Altrene embodied the verse: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want". She was a detail oriented, very hard-working lady who selflessly cared for others, making wonderful meals to celebrate birthdays and holidays. She had a love of music, gardening, flowers, handwork and letter writing. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clarence Arnell Jansson and their parents. Surviving family members include sons, Steven (Mary Kay) Jansson (Barnes, WI) and Bruce Jansson (Coon Rapids, MN). Four grandchildren include Kristin (Jeremy) Wilson (Pensacola, FL), Michael (Caitlin) Jansson (Coon Rapids, MN), Michelle (Stephen) Birt (New Hope, MN) and Kyle (Anna) Jansson (Brookfield, WI). Eleven great grandchildren include Brannon (21), Adelynne (7) and Aiden (4) Wilson; Leah Hunstock (9), Noah (5) and Isaiah (3) Jansson; Kayli (10) and Charis (5) Birt and Emma (7), Benjamin (5) and Owen (3) Jansson. This blessed, caring woman, with her ever ready smile, will be missed by her family and friends. The family is thankful for all of the loving care provided by the Meridian Manor, Methodist Hospital and J.A. Wedum hospice staffs during her final years. Funeral services are Friday, January 17th, at 11 AM with visitation at 10 AM at Messiah United Methodist Church (17805 County Road 6, Plymouth, MN).
