Forsgren (nee McNulty), Teresa Mary Teresa left us peacefully on December 11, 2019. She died from brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 21 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1 Lourdes Pl, Minneapolis, MN 55414 with Fr. Daniel Griffith presiding. Visitation one hour before Mass at the church and 4:00 8:00 pm Friday, December 20, at Washburn- McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St., Edina, MN 55436. Teresa was born on December 23, 1947, to Thomas and Eugenia McNulty in Saint George, Minnesota. Teresa grew up with her four siblings in Bismarck, ND. After graduating from high school in Bismarck, Teresa moved to Minneapolis. Teresa met Dennis Forsgren, in Minneapolis. They were married on June 1, 1968. Their sons, Matthew and Adam, were born in the youth of their marriage. Teresa and Dennis were married for 51 years and were inseparable as a couple. Teresa was a devoted wife and mother, and she loved her large community of family and friends. She was regarded by all as a loving, warm, and compassionate presence who brought joy, laughter, and comfort effortlessly. In addition to relishing her time with family (the larger the gathering, the better) and friends (whose presence she adored to her final days), Teresa loved music, reading, and poetry. An intensely but quietly spiritual individual, she took comfort in prayer and looked out for the vulnerable in society. Teresa was a registered nurse who cared deeply for her patients. Reflecting on her career, Teresa rested comfortably knowing that, in all those moments requiring her care and compassion, she indeed was there, as the poem goes. She admired her colleagues in nursing. And, as she finished her life in the care of hospice caregivers, she was grateful for and respectful of their work. Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; her sons, Matthew (Maren) and Adam (Susan); and her grandchildren, Nicholas (Becky), Samuel, Isaac, Michael, Zacariah, Zoe, and Azalea. Teresa also is survived by her mother (Eugenia) and siblings Patricia (Rod), James (Lynn), Joseph, and Mary (Tim), as well as their many children and grandchildren. Teresa was preceded in passing by her father, Thomas McNulty. In lieu of flowers, Teresa requested memorials be given to Special Olympics Minnesota.
