Hollom, William "Bill" age 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2019 at Mala Strana nursing home in New Prague, MN. Bill worked for NW Bell US West for 38 years and worked as an equipment engineer for 34 years. He retired in 1990. Bill met and eventually married his loving wife, Delores, while playing baseball for Clara City. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. Bill enjoyed all sports. He spent most of his time watching the Twins, Vikings, and MN Gopher sports. He was an avid golfer and would spend many hours out on the course. He was a stand-out athlete at Edison High School, where he excelled at baseball. He later went on to play for the Gophers under legendary coach, Dick Siebert. Bill loved his family. He would talk to the nurses at the nursing home constantly about his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were all the joy of his life. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Delores. He is survived by his two sons, Bruce (Claudia) and Richard (Susan Adamson) Hollom; grandchildren, Mandi (Mike) Ellis, Jason (Amanda) Hollom, Ryan (Erica) Hollom, and Karissa Marcouiller; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan, Caden, Madelyn, Elise, Evelyn Hollom, Finley and Kenzie Marcouiller. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at First Lutheran Church, 1555 40th Ave NE, Columbia Heights.
