Gladys met her bright, funny, talented Irish guy, Donald Thomas Malone, and they got married on June 20th, 1941. They had five daughters and one son. Gladys was a stay-at-home mom and they raised their family in Golden Valley. She instilled in her children the importance of education, family and faith. Gladys was a member of Valley Community Presbyterian Church for 64 years. She volunteered in church, Noble Elementary School PTA, and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. When her youngest child was in school, Gladys went to work in advertising for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. She was employed there for sixteen years. After retirement, Gladys and Don spent their winters in Fort Myers, FL. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; daughter Jane; and sister Mildred Ornberg Kadlec. She is survived by daughters Deanna Joplin, Lynda Jordan (Doug Bryant), Patty Houston (Jerry), Nancy Jepsen (Brian), and son Jim Malone (Becky); grandchildren Sharon, Tim, Erin, Katie, Ryan, Justin, Charlie, Molly and Derrick; and 14 great-grandchildren.
