Samuelson, Catherine E. (Kay Barrett) Our family's matriarch died on October 12, 2019 surrounded by her family. Her vivaciousness, sharp-intellect, and discerning manner made her a fun wife, a trustworthy sister, an attractive friend, a supportive mother, and a loving grandmother. Kay enjoyed theatre, gardening, traveling, walking with friends, her book club and bridge group. Kay's infectious love of song led to her co-founding the community sing-along at Loring Park. Kay grew up in the Village of Webster, New York, graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester in 1961, married in 1962, and moved to Minneapolis at the age of 35. Kay was born on Nov. 24, 1939, into a proud Irish-Catholic family. Kay is preceded in death by her loving parents, Gerald R and Hilda McNamara Barrett, her brother Patrick and her sister Mary.
