Behlmer, Terrence Robert Age 81 of Bloomington, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, October third, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn; children, Deborah (Dean) Little, Kathryn (Adam McFarlane), and Scott; grandchildren, Danielle Heiland, Dan Heiland, Desiree (David) Schloesser, Margaret Grace, and Seth; and great-grandchildren, Madilynn, Macey, and Myles Heiland, as well as his siblings, Tom Elbert, Susan (Greg) Hotzler, and Tim Elbert. He is preceded in death by mother, Annabelle Elbert, and father, John Wesley Behlmer. Terry was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He and Evelyn were Whittemore High School sweethearts. He graduated in 1963 from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering. In Long Beach, California, he was responsible for wing design for DC-9 aircraft at McDonnell Douglas. Returning to their Midwestern roots, Evelyn and Terry moved to Bloomington, Minnesota, in 1968. He joined Hanson Spancrete Midwest in 1970. He rose from structural engineer to chief engineer to multiple vice president positions until retiring in 2001. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 12th, at Dawn Valley Chapel.
