Paar, Edan H. Age 75 of Edina passed away peacefully September 14, 2019, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Ann Humphrey; and brother, Peter Humphrey. Survived by children, Matthew (Holly Margl) and Sarah Hanhan (Tolga); grandchildren, Ella and Soren Hanhan; sister, Candy Keen (Richard); and extended family. Edan was born in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Central High and University of Minnesota, where she was a Delta Gamma. She worked with the Edina Public Schools in various capacities. She gave generously of her time to the Junior League, the Assistance League, and numerous other organizations throughout her life. She was passionate about flowers and gardening, and made a mean zucchini bread. Edan had various circles of friends, many of which overlapped. She enjoyed traveling, dinners out with her Bridge Group, playing cards and Mahjongg, the Garden Club, her book club, and wine with the Wednesday night 5 o'clock group. Her vibrant spirit, thoughtfulness, love of nature, stream of consciousness manner of speaking, and wondrously quirky sense of humor will be deeply missed. An open-house celebration of her life will be held at Arneson Acres Park in Edina on September 28 from 1-4pm. In honor of Edan, plant a flower, share a joke, and keep your elbows off the dinner table. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Edina Garden Council, Second Harvest Food Bank, or an organization of your choice.
