Rystrom, LaVonne Virgene 83 of Chisago City, died Monday, September 16, 2019, at Ecumen North Branch. She was born January 11, 1936 in Almelund, MN to Raymond and Myrtle (Ringstrom) Gustafson. She was a 1953 graduate of North Branch High School. LaVonne was united in marriage to Joseph Rystrom on May 19, 1956 in Almelund. In her earlier years, LaVonne was a homemaker for her family and had worked part time at Fridley State Bank. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fridley where she enjoyed singing in the church choir and performing with the "Egg Cup Program", a group of ladies from Redeemer who raised money for missions. She also enjoyed singing with the Sunshine Singers in Almelund. She was known for her generous gift giving and her sheep collection. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events and loved visiting with family and friends. LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lynette; and two great-grandsons, Isaac and Isaiah. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph; children, Arlen (Andrea) Rystrom and Virgene (Paul) Gavic; son-in-law, John Niewald; grandchildren, Rayel (Isaac) Cleath, Cherie, Desiree, and Beau Roberge, Nathan (Jada), Noah (Bethany), Caleb (Brittany), and Jesse (Kelsey) Gavic, Hannah (Dan) Leidall, and Micah Niewald; great- grandchildren, Ezekiel, Aidan, Ariella, Silas, Ezra, Asher, Karis, Summit, and Aviana; sister, Joyce Nelson; brother, Jerry (Donna) Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fridley. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Interment in Almelund Cemetery.
