Schott, Debra K. (Olson) age 58, of Lester Prairie, MN, died tragically Friday morning, June 28th, 2019 in a helicopter crash in Brainerd, MN. Celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd, at Howard Lake- Waverly-Winsted High School, 8700 County Road 6 S.W., Howard Lake, MN. Visitation will from 10:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Debra "Deb" Kay Schott was born in Litchfield, MN. She was the only daughter to Robert R. Olson and Norma A. Olson (Johnson). She graduated high school at Kerkhoven Murdock Sunburg (KMS) high school. Deb graduated nursing school from Ridgewater College, Willmar. She graduated from Crown College with her Bachelors in Science Nursing (BSN). Deb was currently employed as a RN at the Ridgeview Emergency Department and Flight Nurse for North Air Care. She will miss working with all of her friends and co-workers! Deb married Gary Schott in 2007 in Maui, HI. She loved to travel, working in the garden, and was an avid photographer and her favorite was taking scenic photos. She loved spending her time with her kids and grandkids! Deb was a prior Winsted Reserve Officer, McLeod County Posse member, Ridgeview Ambulance Service (EMT-I), Winsted American Legion Post # 407 Ladies Auxiliary member, Lester Prairie Lions Member, MSRA and Gasholes Car Club out of Hutchinson, MN. She will miss her red mustang convertible! She is survived by her husband Gary L. Schott; daughter Kristie (John) Collins of San Antonio, TX; and son Craig (Heidi) Hatlestad of Winsted, MN; two grandchildren, Hailee Collins and Bryce Hatlestad; mother Norma Olson; Brother Timothy Olson both of Sunburg, MN; step-daughter Jennifer (Phil) Lacher-meier; and step son Brent (Becky) Schott all of Winsted, MN; step- grandchildren Taylor (Zach) Lacher-meier of Silver Lake, MN and Benjamin Lachermeier of Winsted, MN, Chloe and Trevin Schott of Winsted, MN, and Desiree, Brianna, and Preston Collins (Omaha, NE) and her beloved dog Meka.
