Kulas, Charles K. Known to his friends as "Chuck." Passed away May 10, 2019 after a brief illness. He was 71. Chuck will be dearly missed by his family and his many kind and loyal friends. Chuck was born on December 2, 1947 in Winona, MN. He attended Cotter High School in Winona, graduating in 1966. He then received his Bachelor's Degree at St. Mary's University before attending the University of Minnesota Law School. He worked the majority of his career as a pension attorney, most of those years at Northwestern Mutual Life and Minnesota Life. He was married to Stephanie Knopick in 1969. They were later divorced. Chuck loved all sports, but especially loved playing fast pitch softball. Many of his friends were longtime teammates. They traveled and competed in multiple state and national tournaments. He was a terrific catcher. The teams he played on became family to him. He also enjoyed golf and international travel. Chuck visited all but 3 major league ball parks in the U.S. He also traveled to China, Australia and Eastern Europe. Chuck was an avid Gopher, Twins and Packer fan. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Eleanor Kulas and a sister Sharon. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou (Roy) Hazelton; nephew Chris (Jennifer) Hazelton; niece Holly (Dan) Lecheler; and grandnieces/nephew Jessica, Paige and Morgan Hazelton and Tegan and Drew Lecheler. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and/or Twin's Community Fund.
