Bomsta, Diane K. Age 77 of Edina, MN, passed away April 4, 2019 after a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer at N.C. Little Hospice home in Edina, MN. Diane was born to Russell and Amelia Bomsta on May 13, 1941. Diane attended Edina Morningside High School and graduated in 1959. Diane than went on to study Social Service and graduated from the Univerisity of Minnesota in 1963. Diane followed her dreams and worked for the City of Minneapolis, in the field of Human Resource, retiring in 2001. Diane found much joy in her retirement, she designed and cared for her beautiful flower gardens at home, which led to volunteering and past President at Edina's Garden Counsel, Diane's church family held a special place in her heart, singing and playing bells as well as volunteering in may social events. Diane enjoyed reading, traveling and knitting and her special batch of Christman cookies. A Christmas did not pass that Diane did not present her family a choice of hand knitted socks or mittens followed by her wonderfully made cookies. As we sipped coffee and shared the evening, it joyed her heart to give away her hard work. Diane is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Amelia Bomsta; brothers Larry and Greg. Diane is survived by her sister Dr. Carolyn (Dr. David) Levitt; sister-in-law's Sheryl (Frank) Vilt, Nancy (Hegnauer) Bomsta and 12 nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 20 @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 6817 Antrim Road, Edina, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.
