MARK CRAIG'S WEEK 4 POWER RANKINGS
1. Chiefs (3-0)
In three games vs. Baltimore's bone-rattling defense, Patrick Mahomes is 3-0 and averaging 31.3 points, 379 yards passing, three touchdowns and a 116.2 passer rating.
2. Ravens (2-1)
Lamar will need to reach another passing gear if he wants to create a true rivalry with the full-throttled Mahomes.
3. Seahawks (3-0)
Seattle is 2-0 when giving up more than 500 yards. And 2-0 when giving up 30 or more points. Russell Wilson is the ultimate fixer.
4. Patriots (2-1)
Thirty-eight carries, 250 yards and another defense demoralized by Ground Belichick.
5. Packers (3-0)
Can Jordan Love play receiver ? ARodg looks like he's going to be sticking around a bit longer.
6. Steelers (3-0)
Three games. Fifteen sacks. Yep, sounds about right for Blitzburgh.
7. Bills (3-0)
Here is what Buffalo's offense did after an opening three-and-out: TD, TD, TD, TD. Fifteen first downs and a 28-3 lead. Over the Rams. That's why Stefon is so happy.
8. Buccaneers (2-1)
Reigning sack king Shaq Barrett notches his first two sacks for a defense that's fifth in yards and eighth in points. And, oh yeah, Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes.
9. Titans (3-0)
For Vikings fans who've grown rusty in their angst with kickers, Tennessee's guy went 6-for-6 with three makes of 50-plus. Your guy went 1-for-2.
10. Bears (3-0)
In Mitchell do the Bears trust? Not anymore.
11. Raiders (2-1)
Getting stomped by the Patriots' running game is going to become a familiar feeling around the league.
12. Saints (1-2)
They seem very good. Alvin Kamara seems better than that.
13. Cardinals (2-1)
You beat the 49ers and you lose to Detroit? Really? Maybe it's the Cardinals who were who we thought they were.
14. 49ers (2-1)
Unless you're related to Nick Mullens, don't get too excited. Those 343 passing yards and 8-for-11 success rate on third down came against the Giants.
15. Rams (2-1)
Basically third string three weeks ago, running back Darrell Henderson posted 114 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries against the Bills.
16. Cowboys (1-2)
They put up 522 yards of offense and lost. Welcome to playing Russell Wilson.
17. Colts (2-1)
Indianapolis has the best offensive line as well as the only defense that has yet to allow an opponent to reach 300 yards.
18. Browns (2-1)
If Kevin Stefanski keeps winning like this, he'll never be able to win the 2021 draft.
19. Dolphins (1-2)
FitzMagic or JagTragic, didn't see that Thursday night beatdown coming.
20. Panthers (1-2)
With Christian McCaffrey on IR, Carolina went 1-for-6 in scoring touchdowns in the red zone, but won on Joey Slye field goals of 29, 24, 30, 22 and 31 yards.
21. Chargers (1-2)
Justin Herbert has another 300-yard game, but throws an ugly and very costly pick right before the half.
22. Jaguars (1-2)
The overachieving Gardner Minshew looked more like he is supposed to look in a loss to the Dolphins.
23. Washington (1-2)
Dwayne Haskins has played 12 NFL games. He has been sacked 39 times.
24. Lions (1-2)
The 11-game losing streak finally ends as Detroit plays defense the way it rarely has under defensive-minded Matt Patricia.
25. Texans (0-3)
How bad is Houston's pass protection? Put it this way. The Vikings allow a sack on 9% of their pass plays. Houston is at 13.7%, a league worst.
26. Vikings (0-3)
With a trip to Seattle for Game 5, the Vikings probably need to beat Houston on Sunday to avoid matching the 1962 team's franchise-worst 0-5 start. The only 0-4 starts in 59 years of Vikings football: 1962, 1967, 2002 and 2011.
27. Broncos (0-3)
Denver has started eight quarterbacks since 2016. Brett Rypien might become No. 9 on Thursday night.
28. Bengals (0-2-1)
Joe Burrow is taking hits that make crash dummies wince.
29. Eagles (0-2-1)
Philadelphia ties Cincinnati to move half a win ahead of the Vikings in the battle to avoid becoming the most disappointing NFC team that made the playoffs in 2019.
30. Falcons (0-3)
The Falcons led late. Then they didn't. Then they lost. The end.
31. Giants (0-3)
The Giants are the best 0-3 team that plays home games at MetLife Stadium.
32. Jets (0-3)
Nipped again by a mere 29 points, Adam Gase is now 30-38 with 30 double-digit losses as an NFL head coach.
