Lynx at a glance: After beating Detroit 84-70 in its home opener nine days ago, Minnesota will try to start 2-0 for the first time since the team's inaugural season, 1999. Three rookies combined for 47 points against the Shock, led by reserve forward Charde Houston, who had 21 points. "We know it will be a difficult game with Houston just like it was with Detroit," Lynx coach Don Zierden said, "but it will be a good barometer. We want to improve our road record over last year, when we won three games." Guard Seimone Augustus averaged 23.3 points in the three games against the Comets last season, but the Lynx were 0-3. This is the first of three games for the Lynx in five days.

Houston at a glance: The Comets (0-2) have feasted on the Lynx. Houston has won five in a row against the Lynx and is 24-7 all-time, including 14-2 at home. The Comets have lost two road games this season, 85-66 to Detroit and 69-66 to Washington. Tina Thompson had a team-high 17 points in each game. Thompson, a 6-2 forward, is starting her 12th season and is a five-time All-Star. The Comets committed 23 turnovers against Detroit and 22 against the Mystics. Tonight will be Houston's home opener at Reliant Arena -- the Comets played at Toyota Center the past five seasons -- and the game is sold out. The arena seats 7,261 and is a cozy place; every seat is within 200 feet of the court.
