KEY FINDINGS OF THE MINNESOTA POLL
Here are the highlights of other Minnesota Poll stories published beginning last Sunday:
Vikings stadium
• 62 percent say the Vikings should stay in Metrodome; 34 percent say they need new stadium.
• 74 percent oppose public money for a new stadium; 22 percent support it.
• 66 percent say it's very or somewhat important that the Vikings stay in Minnesota; 33 percent say it's not too or not at all important.
• The two main sites being considered for a new stadium are nearly equally supported -- 24 percent for the Metrodome site and 22 percent for the Arden Hills site.
• 55 percent say Target Field has been worth the public expense; 31 percent say it has not.
Gambling
• 72 percent say the right to operate casino gambling should be extended to others; 23 percent say American Indian tribes should retain the exclusive right.
• If gambling is expanded, 20 percent prefer video slots at horse racetracks, 12 percent prefer a casino in Minneapolis, 8 percent back a casino at the Mall of America, another 8 percent back video slots in bars and restaurants, and 37 percent said all of the above.
Sunday liquor sales: 62 percent favor allowing it; 34 percent oppose changing the law.
Requiring photo ID for voters: 80 percent favor it; 18 percent oppose changing the law.
Amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage:
55 percent oppose it; 39 percent favor it.
