The Gophers football team announced Thursday that its annual spring game will be May 1 at TCF Bank Stadium, and that up to 10,000 people can attend with free admission.

Two hours later, the Gophers announced they were sold out, with all 10,000 tickets reserved online. They instructed fans on how to sign up for a ticket waiting list.

The spring game is slated to start at 11 a.m. The Gophers made tickets available in pods of two and four, through an online ordering system.

They announced that fans in attendance must wear face coverings at all times, and that tailgating won't be permitted on University property.

Last year, the Gophers did not hold a spring game because of the pandemic. During the season, parents and family members were allowed to watch, but not general fans.
