Hoosiers also need a victory

Preview: The Gophers (12-12, 6-8 Big Ten) and Hoosiers (16-9, 6-8) have the same conference record and find themselves on the NCAA tournament bubble entering Wednesday's game at the Barn. For the first time in weeks, though, Minnesota is no longer listed on the bracket projections by ESPN's Joe Lunardi and CBS Sports' Jerry Palm after Sunday's 58-55 loss against Iowa. Indiana, however, is among Lunardi's "First Four Out." The Hoosiers were comfortably in the mix until suffering five losses in their past six games, including 89-65 at Michigan on Sunday. They previously had ended a four-game losing streak last week with a 89-77 win at home vs. Iowa.

Players to watch: Gophers sophomore Gabe Kalscheur has scored in double figures in three straight games, including 12 points Sunday. Kalscheur had 20 points on 6-for-8 shooting from three-point range in an 84-63 win against the Hoosiers at home last year. Indiana redshirt sophomore forward Race Thompson had a career-high 10 points and four steals vs. Iowa. He is a 6-8 former Armstrong standout.
