Preview: The Wild, 8-1 at home, plays its second game of a four-game homestand after shutting out Nashville on Saturday. The Canucks are 1-4-1 in their past six overall and 2-6-2 in their past 10. The Wild is 6-2 in its past eight against Vancouver, including three victories in its past four games in St. Paul.

Players to watch: Wild D Ryan Suter has 13 points in the past 11 games and is tied for third among NHL defensemen with 19 points in 19 games. C Mikko Koivu has a point in six consecutive games. LW Thomas Vanek has four goals and two assists in seven games without injured Zach Parise. … Canucks LW Daniel Sedin was named the NHL's Second Star of the Week with five goals and seven points in four games. Sedin hit the 904-point mark, second in team history to brother, Henrik (936). Henrik ranks first against the Wild with 50 assists and is second with 62 points. Daniel ranks second with 38 assists and third with 59 points.

Numbers: The Wild has the fourth-most points among defensemen in the NHL (12 goals, 47 points), according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Injuries: Parise (knee), RW Justin Fontaine (knee), D Marco Scandella (lower body) and C Tyler Graovac (sports hernia) are out. Canucks C Brandon Sutter (undisclosed) is out.
