Wolves can be spoiler again
Preview: With much of its roster out with injury and with nothing to play for, the Wolves have managed to win two straight games, including Friday's 111-109 victory against a Miami team fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Now they get another chance at being a spoiler. The Thunder is in seventh place in the Western Conference and has clinched a playoff spot. But OKC is just a half-game ahead of No. 8 San Antonio and a half-game behind the No. 6 Los Angeles Clippers. So final playoff order — and who has to play Golden State in the first round — has yet to be decided.
Players to watch: Wolves F Gorgui Dieng came off the bench to score 19 points in 22 minutes Friday. He has averaged 14.4 points and shot 62 percent his past five games. F/G Andrew Wiggins has scored 20 or more in seven of nine games, averaging 21.1 points and shooting 46.5 percent in that time. F Dario Saric is averaging 15.3 points in three April starts. Thunder G Russell Westbrook will average a triple-double again this season for the third straight year, an NBA first. He recently became the second person in league history (Wilt Chamberlain is the other) to have a 20-20-20 game. F Paul George is averaging 28.1 points, second in the league.
Numbers: The Wolves have had the Thunder's number of late. Minnesota won all three games this season and is 6-1 vs. Oklahoma City since the start of the 2017-18 season.
Injuries: Wolves F Taj Gibson (left calf strain) is doubtful. F Robert Covington (knee), Luol Deng (Achilles' tendon), G Derrick Rose (elbow surgery) and G Jeff Teague (left foot) are out. Thunder F/G Andre Roberson (left knee) is out.
