Jessa Snippes did it all for top-seeded Rosemount in the Class 4A, Section 3 softball championship game Friday at Richfield Middle School.

The sophomore pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven in a 4-0 victory over fourth-seeded Park of Cottage Grove. She also had two hits and one RBI.

Paige Zender and Cece Hanson had one hit and one RBI each for the Irish.

Gracie Bond struck out six in six innings for the Wolfpack and had her team's only hit.

Class 3A, Section 3: Brooke Nesdahl struck out nine in a complete game to lead fifth-seeded Cretin-Derham Hall past second-seeded Holy Angels 2-0 in the championship game. Sophie Black had three hits and one RBI and Anna Caruso had two hits, two stolen bases and one run scored for the Raiders. Olivia Lewis had two hits and Kaitlyn Kneeland had six strikeouts in seven innings for the Stars.

Class 2A, Section 8: Kaylie Crabtree and Addie Dauner hit back-to-back two-out doubles to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and give Hawley an 8-7 win over Pequot Lakes in the second championship game at Frazee. Crabtree was down to her final strike before driving in Paige Blakeway and Maki Halvorson to tie the score 7-7. Like the Nuggets, the Patriots were down to their final strike, but Morgan Eckes hit a three-run home run to take a 7-5 lead.

Baseball

Class 3A, Section 2: Charlie Jacobson pitched five shutout innings to lead third-seeded Marshall past top-seeded Mankato West 2-1 in the championship game. The Tigers got run-scoring singles by Cole Felcyn in the third inning and Jack Bly in the sixth. The Scarlets scored their run in the top of the seventh. Louis Magers had two hits and an RBI and Zander Dittbenner struck out 11 in six innings for Mankato West.

Class 2A, Section 8: Wadena-Deer Creek scored a run on Evan Lunde's bunt in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Perham 3-2 in the championship game. Lunde drove in two runs earlier with a double. Chas Melvin had two doubles and two RBI for the Yellowjackets.
