IN HIS OWN WORDS
A key part of the audience for "Sight Without Eyes" is people who are blind. Scott Svare, who made the film with his friend and classmate Stephen Browman, who is blind, discussed making a film for viewers who cannot see:
"When I was making the film, I wanted to make sure it sounded just as good as it looked. I wanted the viewer to be able feel the rawness and emotion of it, without having to actually 'see' it.
"When I listen to a song I begin to get this feel of emotion from it, then this movie starts playing in my head, and I begin to picture different scenes and shots and transfer those reels I imagine in my head into ones of real life.
"I view music as the backbone of the film. It sets the tone, and decides the state of emotion. After I was listening to Stephen talk, I realized that he really has 'sight without eyes' and that's where I was inspired for the name of my film."
