In addition to a selection of Hollywood releases, the annual Twin Cities Film Fest devotes part of its programming to movies that explore social topics. This year's focus is on veterans' issues. The offerings include the world premiere of "Iron Will: Veterans' Battle With PTSD" (7:15 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, repeated at noon Tuesday, Showplace Icon Theatres). Narrated by Billy Bob Thornton, this powerful documentary interviews the men and women who went into battle in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Kuwait and Vietnam and now are still fighting the wars every day at home. It was directed by Sergio Valenzuela, an Iraq war veteran for whom the project clearly has deep personal connections. The festival continues through Oct. 29; for a full schedule of screenings, go to twincitiesfilmfest.org.
