Delta adds Wi-Fi provider
Delta Air Lines is adding Viasat as an in-flight Wi-Fi provider, a move intended to improve the service and bring the airline closer to being able to offer it for free. Delta said it will continue to use its current provider Gogo for Wi-Fi on some of its jets. But, starting this summer, the airline will put Viasat's Ka-band high-speed satellite technology on more than 300 narrow-body planes. The new technology will allow "a Wi-Fi experience closer to what you would find at home or work," according to Delta's director of brand experience, Ekrem Dimbiloglu. The Viasat Wi-Fi will cost $6 an hour or $10 a flight.

Fat Bike Classic is on
Many of Minnesota's staple winter events have been canceled this year, but the Norpine Fat Bike Classic in Lutsen will soldier on, in a safe modified form. The annual bike race becomes an informal "fun ride" in 2021, where riders can sign up to ride a 14- or 20-mile course anytime between Jan. 23-31. Registration is $50 at superiorcycling.org/norpine. Cook County's Norpine trail system now includes 20 kilometers of dual-use trails for fat bikers and cross-country skiers.

Curaçao reopens
The Caribbean island of Curaçao has reopened to travelers from every U.S. state and waived the previously required 14-day visitor quarantine. American visitors are required to complete an online digital immigration card, fill out a passenger locator card within 48 hours of departure, upload proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result within 72 hours of travel and present a printed copy upon arrival. Sandals Resorts will premiere its first Curaçao property this year.
