What is a Day Pass?
The Day Pass is a special offer available to qualified Star Tribune readers. If you’re qualified, upon verifying your email address or using our Facebook login feature, you will be entitled to seven days of unrestricted access to Star Tribune articles.

What does the Day Pass include?
A Day Pass includes the same level of access as a Premium Digital Access subscription. This includes:

  • Unlimited content on Startribune.com
  • Unlimited access to apps (iPad®, iPhone®, Android™)
  • eEdition (digital replica of the daily paper)

This access is available for a limited time while using the Day Pass, and is not a subscription. At the end of your Day Pass, you will need to purchase a Premium Digital Access subscription to continue with full digital access.

How do I activate my Day Pass?
Activate your Day Pass by clicking the link in your verification email. If you didn’t receive a verification email within 15 minutes of providing your email address, please check your “spam/junk” folder or your “promotions” folder.

You must click the link in this email within 48 hours or it will expire.

If your email activation link has expired, or if you can’t find your email, contact us at StarTribune.com/support.

How do I access my Day Pass on another device if I signed up with Facebook?
To access your Day Pass on another device, go to login or settings and click the “Continue with Facebook” button.

How do I access my Day Pass on another device if I signed up with email?
To access your Day Pass on another device, you need to set up your Email login. Go to StarTribune.com/password. Enter your email address and click submit. You will receive a password reset email, and you can then create a password.

I never created a password. How do I access my Day Pass without a password?
To set up your Email login, go to StarTribune.com/password. Enter your email address and click submit. You will receive a password reset email, and you can then create a password.

Can I access my Day Pass on the app if I signed up with Facebook?
Yes! To access your Day Pass on our app, you must first download the iOS or Android app to your device. Then, click the settings gear, click log in and then click the “Continue with Facebook” button.

Can I access my Day Pass on the app if I signed up with email?
Yes! To access your Day Pass on our app, you must first download the iOS or Android app to your device. To login to the app, you must set-up a password for your account.

Why am I not qualified for a Day Pass?
The Day Pass offer is only available for new visitors to Star Tribune who haven’t previously purchased a subscription or opted-in to an email newsletter.

My Day Pass is expired. Why can’t I continue to access the site with my Day Pass?
The Day Pass gives you a limited time trial of our Premium Digital Access subscription. To continue to get full access to StarTribune.com, you may purchase a Premium Digital Access subscription.

How do I extend or renew my Day Pass?
The Day Pass cannot be renewed or extended. To continue to get full access to StarTribune.com, you may purchase a Premium Digital Access subscription.
