Pick in the 1996 NBA draft. The Charlotte Hornets drafted Bryant with the 13th overall pick. He was drafted out of Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania. Charlotte traded him to L.A. for center Vlade Divac.

All-Star Game appearances. He became the youngest NBA player to start an All-Star Game when he did so in 1998. He averaged 20 points and 4.9 rebounds per All-Star Game, with a 37-point, 14-rebound effort in 2011.

NBA Championships. Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal reeled off three consecutive titles (2000, 2001, 2002). After losing in the Finals in 2004 and 2008, Bryant led the Lakers to consecutive titles in 2009 and 2010.
