EXCELSIOR: 10:15 a.m., service at Oak Hill Cemetery, just east of 810 Excelsior Blvd. After the ceremony, the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society will present a walking tour of the cemetery, led by historian Scott McGinnis. It's free, although contributions are welcome. The tour will begin at the top of Oak Hill and includes steep, uneven and unpaved terrain.
FORT SNELLING NATIONAL CEMETERY: 6:30 a.m. ceremony attended by Gov. Tim Walz. The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs will hold a virtual program called "Reflections: Memorial Day 2021," at 8 p.m. Monday on TPT or online anytime.
MAPLEWOOD: 11 a.m. ceremony, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1800 Edgerton St. Master of ceremonies will be John Weiss of the 4th District Sons of the American Legion, Arcade-Phalen Post 57.
MINNEAPOLIS: Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Av. A prerecorded ceremony to honor veterans is available at lakewoodcemetery.org. Live activities will take place at the cemetery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including guided walking tours and live music.
NORTH ST. PAUL: Three programs will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW posts of North St. Paul: 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery on Helen Street in North St. Paul. 10 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Century Avenue in Mahtomedi. 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Century Avenue in Mahtomedi. Guest speaker at all three will be Chaplain Tom Burns, past commander of North St. Paul American Legion Post 39. Ceremonies will take place rain or shine; bring a folding chair.
ST. LOUIS PARK: 11 a.m. service at Wolfe Park. Conducted by American Legion Post 282.
ST. PAUL: 9:30 a.m. service held by Veterans for Peace on the State Capitol grounds on John Ireland Blvd. near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Will feature a Native American welcome, the spoken wold, music and time to remember all who have been lost in all wars, veterans and nonveterans. In case of rain, will be held under the walkway between the Veterans Administration buildings. Please bring a chair and whatever you need to be comfortable.
ST. PAUL: 3 p.m. memorial service at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the State Capitol grounds. Sponsored by Vietnam Veterans Chapter 470 from Anoka.
STILLWATER: 9 a.m. ceremony at the Stillwater Veterans Memorial, 3rd and Pine streets. Will include music by the Croix Chordsmen and taps performed by Stillwater Area High School students. A flag-raising and flyover by the T-6 Thunder Flight Team is planned for noon. While some seating will be provided, attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
