LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – All-Star Ben Simmons will have surgery on his left knee, a big blow for the Philadelphia 76ers and their hopes of making a run in this season's playoffs.

The 76ers announced Saturday that Simmons will leave the NBA's season-restart bubble at Walt Disney World. There was no immediate time frame for his return, and it's likely that no firm timetable on his recovery will be set until after the surgery.

Simmons left Philadelphia's game against Washington on Wednesday midway through the third quarter because of injury, officially diagnosed as a subluxation of the left patella.

Tests since revealed a loose body inside the knee, which led to the decision for surgery.

Simmons is averaging 16.4 points, 8.0 assists and 7.8 rebounds this season, and his 35.4 minutes per game leads the 76ers.

The 76ers have clinched a playoff spot and cannot fall lower than sixth in the Eastern Conference, no matter what happens in the remaining the seeding games.

Saturday's games

Denver 134, Utah 132 (two OT): Jamal Murray scored 23 points in his first game of the NBA restart, including the tying and go-ahead baskets, and the Nuggets beat the Jazz.

The Nuggets overcame Donovan Mitchell's 35 points for Utah, including a three-pointer with 4.2 seconds remaining in the second overtime.

Murray also had 12 rebounds and eight assists.

Los Angeles Clippers 122, Portland 117: Rodney McGruder hit a three-pointer with 26.5 seconds left, and the Clippers beat the Trail Blazers even with Kawhi Leonard resting on the bench.

Portland had a chance to ensure a play-in for the Western Conference's final playoff berth and eliminate Sacramento with a win.

Phoenix 119, Miami 112: Devin Booker scored 35 points and Jevon Carter added a season-high 20 as the Suns remained undefeated in the restart. They are 5-0 in the bubble.

Indiana 116, Los Angeles 111: T.J. Warren scored 39 points, including seven in a row that put the Pacers ahead in the final two minutes of a victory over the Lakers.
