Raptors play well on the road

Preview: After going 5-0 on their homestand, the Wolves lost two straight road games, including a clunker in Orlando that dropped them to 6-11 vs. Eastern Conference teams. Enter Toronto, No. 2 in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors beat San Antonio 86-83 Friday night. The Raptors are 14-10 on the road.

Players to watch: Backup G Tyus Jones scored 13 points and made three of five three-pointers in 15½ minutes off the bench Thursday in Houston. Backup G Jamal Crawford was held scoreless for just the third time this season and for the first time in 27 games. Raptors G DeMar DeRozan averaged 28.5 points and G Kyle Lowry averaged 22.5 points vs. the Wolves last season.

Numbers: Minnesota has won two straight vs. Toronto at home. Toronto coach Dwane Casey — who once coached the Wolves — is 9-2 vs. his former team. The Wolves have been outrebounded in the past two games.

Injuries: The Wolves report no injuries. Toronto G Fred VanVleet (questionable, knee injury) did not play Friday.
