UPDATE 2 p.m: Wolves have signed veteran guard Lance Stephenson to a second 10-day contract, which was all but a formality once he had healed from that Grade 2 ankle sprain he sustained nearly a month ago against Cleveland.

I guess that means he's healthy and good to go.

He averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in four games on his first 10-day contract with the team.

END UPDATE

The Timberwolves went through their morning shootaround today on the Target Cener without any incident.

"Shootaround was good," Wolves forward Nemanja Bjelica said as he broke into a grin. "We'll see about the afternoon."

Everything was good Monday morning, too, before the day turned warm and humid and the condensation on the court postponed that night's game against Portland.

The weather today is back to Minnesota March chilly and the Wolves and their court are back to normal for tonight's game against Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and the L.A. Clippers.

"At least we got some extra rest," Bjelica said.

Also this morning:

* Adriean Payne spoke about being back with the team after he missed 13 games while being treated for thrombocytopenia, a deficiency of platelets in the blood that causes bleeding into the tissues, bruising and causes blood to clot slowly after injury.

"I didn't even know what it was," he said. "I was just going with what the doctors were telling me, doing what they told me to do and just resting."

He declared himself "feeling good, healthy."

* Former Wolves great Kevin Garnett is traveling with the Clippers and is in Target Center today. He has been hired by pal Doc Rivers to work his Clippers players.

* Paul and Griffin both were ou tthe last time these teams played, a 104-101 Wolves' victory at Staples Center in January. They're back tonight for a Clippers team that has won two in a row.

* This will be Clippers veteran Paul Pierce's final time into Target Center after he played the Boston team that drafted him for the final time on Monday in L.A. He will retire after this season.

That caused Tom Thibodeau to reminisce about both Pierce and Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, who reached 30,000 career points Tuesday night.'

Nowitzki was taken ninth overall in the 1998 draft, Pierce went next at No. 10.

"That's a heckuva draft," Thibodeau said. "And it says a lot about them, too."
