Making recommendations before seeing Fringe shows is like buying a car from Crazy Larry's Auto Lot. But here are eight that might hold up:

"Now or Later." Controversial photos of a presidential candidate's son surface. The cast includes Grant Sorenson, Jennifer Blagen and Peter Moore.

"Bezubaan: The Voiceless." The creators of a 2015 top draw are back in their Bollywood style.

"Of Something Human." Choreographer and dancer Tamara Ober is a safe bet.

"Cougar-oke." Ahna Brandvik, Shanan Custer, James Detmar, Michelle Hutchison and Dane Stauffer — that's a lot of improv talent.

"Becoming Inga." Colleen Kruse talks about sex work, in a show she created with David Mann.

"Sometimes There's Wine." Shanan Custer and Carolyn Pool, who created "2 Sugars, Room for Cream," are back, and this time they're drinking wine, not coffee.

"The Fever." Patrick O'Brien is a terrific storyteller.

"The Life of Charles Schulz." Brad Erickson portrays the cartoonist who gave us Charlie Brown.
