JAN. 8

Drugs. A 24-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and giving police a false name, at York Avenue S. and W. 70th Street.

JAN. 9

Theft. A 14-year-old boy was arrested for theft after he was caught stealing merchandise valued at $1,497 at Macy's in Southdale Center.

MAPLE GROVE

DEC. 31

Suspicious vehicle. An officer responded to a report of a vehicle parked at the end of the street in the 9000 block of Weston Lane with its engine running and lights on. A person sleeping in the back seat was awakened and said they had been kicked out of the house. The person was told they could not sleep there.

Check welfare. An officer responded to a report of someone pounding on the window yelling for help in the 11700 block of Central Park Way. The officer found that a 49-year-old man had been locked out of the building while letting his dog out. The man, who was barefoot and had been drinking, was taken to the hospital.

JAN. 6

Drugs. An officer responded to a report of a person sleeping in a vehicle at Highway 610 and Maple Grove Parkway. The 52-year-old Mound man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, a warrant and smuggling contraband into prison.

Fire. Officers responded to a report of a shed on fire in the 8800 block of Lawndale Lane. They discovered that a heat lamp had tipped over inside the structure. Firefighters put out the blaze.

MEDINA

JAN. 8

Animal complaint. Officers responded to a report of a cow roaming at large near County Road 19 and Hwy. 55. While they were en route, the officers were told by a dispatcher that a farmer had retrieved the cow.

JAN. 13

Assist public. Officers responded to a report of a female locked inside a bathroom at a home in the 100 block of Hamel Road. Before they arrived, they were told the female had successfully gotten out.

Animal complaint. An officer responded to a report of a barking dog at a home in the 2900 block of Lakeshore Avenue. The dog was found tied up in the front yard. The dog's owner claimed to be unaware that the dog was outside, apologized and brought the dog inside. He was issued a verbal warning.

RICHFIELD

JAN. 4

Fraud. Officers observed a suspicious vehicle at Motel 6, 7640 Cedar Av. S. A 20-year-old Crystal woman was cited for giving a false name to police.

Burglary. Multiple cartons of cigarettes were stolen from Pump 'n Munch, 6300 Lyndale Av. S.

JAN. 6

Disorderly conduct. An officer responded to a report of a disorderly man at Woodlake Veterinary Hospital, 6436 Lyndale Av. S. A 29-year-old Minneapolis man was cited for disorderly conduct and taken to a detox facility.

Robbery. Officers responded to a report of a robbery at T-Mobile, 28 W. 66th St. A male suspect had grabbed a cellphone valued at $900 out of an employee's hands and fled. They were unable to find him.

JAN. 7

Disturbance. Officers responded to several 911 follow-ups and disturbances at a home in the 6900 block of Cedar Avenue S. A 42-year-old Richfield man was arrested for misuse of 911.
