When Kari Patey starts her new job as WCCO news director, she won't need an orientation class. Patey, who was announced as Mike Caputa's replacement Tuesday, graduated from Hamline University and worked at WCCO and KSTP from 1999-2006. For the past decade, she has been at WNBC in New York City where she's currently the assistant news director.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to be coming home and joining a team of terrific storytellers," Patey said in a statement. "I'm very excited to do what I love in an area I love. I'm a Midwest girl through and through."
