Alana Beard scored only four points in Sunday's game, but two of them were enough to send the Lynx to defeat in the opener of the WNBA finals.
The Lynx trailed Los Angeles 76-72 with a minute to go before scoring a pair of baskets to tie the game, the second one on a shot by Maya Moore with 24.7 left to play.
The Sparks held the ball for a final shot, which Beard -- known more for her defense than scoring -- took just before the 24-second clock ran out.
