The gaping hole in the Minnesota State Fair's grandstand concert series has finally been filled: Phatogram and Lucius, two acts adored on public alternative/indie station 89.3 the Current, will come together to play the Great Minnesota Get-Together on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Tickets to the so-called Music-on-a-Stick -- formerly known as Minnesota-Music-on-a-Stick when the Current hosted all local bands at the fair -- will be $25 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through eTix.com, the fair's box office or 1-800-514-3849. There will be no seats in plaza-level in front of the stage for this one, just general-admission standing.

An electronic rock duo from Upstate New York that broke out in 2009 with the single "Mouthful of Diamonds," Phantogram sold out the Palace Theatre in April as one of the headliners for the venue's opening weekend. Lucius is best-known locally for its lively set at Rock the Garden in 2015.

Making it a trio of bands fronted by women, local pop-rockers Now Now will open the show after returning from hiatus with a new single and 7th Street Entry show last week.
