The Minneapolis Fire Department hazardous material team was called Friday afternoon to clean up a small spill at the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.

The building at 425 E. River Parkway was temporarily evacuated and part of the East River Parkway was closed while firefighters investigated and cleaned up the fluid that spilled from a pipette — a very small vial. There were no injuries.

Minneapolis Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Tyner said he is waiting on reports from the team on the scene to tell him what liquid was spilled.
