One person was shot and a second person sustained a head injury from blunt force trauma in a home invasion early Friday in Brooklyn Park.

Three men wearing masks and armed with guns entered the home in the 8000 block of Brunswick Avenue N. about 12:20 a.m. At some point shots were fired, said Brooklyn Park Deputy Police Chief Mark Bruley.

Police arrived and found seven adults and two children in the home. One man sustained a noncritical gunshot wound. Another man sustained a head injury. Both were in the hospital Friday morning, Bruley said.

"The preliminary investigation is suggesting that the motive for this home invasion was robbery," Bruley said.

The suspects fled the scene before police arrived and were still on the lam as Friday morning.
