Wouldn't it be nice

The battle of the Beach Boys continues, as Dan Rather hosts Mike Love on a new edition of "The Big Interview." For those who haven't been keeping up, Love and his former bandmate Brian Wilson have been battling it out on the bestseller list with dueling autobiographies. If the interview is anything like his book, don't expect Love to be very lovey-dovey.

Good times

"Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You" could have just been another tribute to the TV legend or a rehashing of his recent autobiography. But as usual, "American Masters" goes deep, coaxing the "All in the Family" producer to share revealing confessions, including one about the lies he told so often about his father that he almost came to believe them. This is a star-studded documentary for pop-culture fans and anyone with complicated family issues.

Reflections

"Black Mirror," "The Twilight Zone" for a new generation, has made its third season available. The latest batch of thought-provoking stories attracted an impressive roster. The opener features Bryce Dallas Howard ("Jurassic World") and was co-written by "Parks and Recreation" co-creator Michael Schur and one of that sitcom's stars, Rashida Jones. "Atonement" director Joe Wright is at the helm.
