Girl gone wild

Nothing much happens in "Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars," which is exactly why it should draw families looking for communal entertainment that won't cause any uncomfortable moments. Netflix's darker adaptation of the classic novel may be more ambitious, but for viewers who don't want anything more unsettling than a young girl screwing up a pie recipe, this is the "Anne" you'd want to adopt.

Spiked punch

Spike Lee has his groove back in "She's Gotta Have It," a comedy series adapted from his breakthrough film that's just as sexy and daring the second time around. DeWanda Wise commands the screen as the fiercely independent Nola Darling juggling a trio of suitors, including Anthony Ramos, who steps into Lee's role of Mars Blackmon. The fun begins in the opening credits with a sampling from Prince's "Raspberry Beret."
