"S-Town" isn't technically the third season of "Serial," but it's from the same production team that brought you that Peabody-winning podcast and it also involves true-life circumstances, in this case, an alleged murder in small-town Alabama. All seven episodes are now available. In addition, "Serial" co-creators Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder will be at St. Louis Park's Beth El Synagogue on May 10.

The evil that men do
"Dead Reckoning: War, Crime, and Justice" seems determined to expose every war criminal in modern-day history over three straight hours, a task that's certain to overwhelm casual viewers. The project, which opens with the search for Nazi and Japanese sadists after World War II, is certainly worth your time, but you might want to utilize your recording device and spread out the carnage over a few days. Your heart will thank you for it.

Rebel yell
John Singleton, an Oscar nominee for directing 1991's "Boyz n the Hood," is now firmly in the TV camp with his first original series, "Rebel," starring Danielle Moné Truitt as an Oakland police officer who becomes a private investigator after her brother is killed. The cast includes Method Man, Giancarlo Esposito and Mykelti Williamson.
