Which way is up?
"I Am Richard Pryor" doesn't offer enough clips to justify calling the late legend the greatest stand-up of his generation, but the documentary successfully makes the case that he was the most conflicted, as his desires to be as beloved as Bill Cosby clashed with the urge to share his personal pain on stage. More to love
Aidy Bryant continues to shine on "Saturday Night Live," but she's never been as vulnerable — and touching — as she is in "Shrill," the bittersweet dramedy she co-created about a plus-size journalist who decides to give her life a rewrite. A few "SNL" vets make appearances, but this is the kind of subtle, sweet comedy you don't normally see on the late-night sketch show or, for that matter, anywhere else.
