Clothes call

"Project Runway" is returning to Bravo for its 17th season, but without original cast members Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. Don't panic. The show still works, thanks largely to its increased commitment to diversity in both its field of contestants and models. New host Karlie Kloss sometimes feels like she's on automatic pilot, but give her time.

Stop the presses

Hollywood has done its fair share of celebrating journalism, but it's just as likely to take a swipe at the media. In 1951's "Ace in the Hole," Kirk Douglas will stop at nothing to sensationalize a story about a man trapped after a cave collapse. That's followed by 1957's "Sweet Smell of Success," a fast-talking flick in which Burt Lancaster plays a gossip columnist with ink-stained scruples.
