Life goes on for Louie

Not much happens in the Season 3 premiere of "Baskets," but there's satisfaction in seeing the show return after FX severed all ties with executive producer Louis C.K. The disgraced comic is no longer associated with the series, but Minnesota's comeback kid Louie Anderson is front and center as his beloved character, Christine, learns that buying a rodeo means getting featured on the 4 p.m. local news. In the world of "Baskets," that's like a winning shot at the buzzer.

More than lutefisk

A new season of "Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern" kicks off with the host visiting his adopted home state of Minnesota for a trek down the Paul Bunyan Trail with more than stacks of pancakes on the menu. The journey north of the Twin Cities includes stops for muskrat with gravy, duck stew and bear pastrami.

North to Alaska

I somehow missed the second season of "The Detour." If you did, too, no worries. The third season is pretty much a complete reboot, with the family, haphazardly led by Jason Jones and Natalie Zea, hiding from the law in small-town Alaska. The antics aren't terribly original, but as long as the show stays on the schedule, it lessens the odds that Chevy Chase will make another "Vacation" movie.
