Fascinating rhythm

Holiday music is in the air with tunes to match most viewers' tastes. TCM is going old school with a tribute to the Great American Songbook every Thursday night this month. Michael Feinstein hosts the latest prime-time slate, kicking off with 1943's "Girl Crazy," in which Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland show they've got rhythm. Who could ask for anything more?

7 p.m., TCM

Empire state of mind

Taraji P. Henson returns as host of "Taraji's White Hot Holidays" with Chaka Khan, Fergie and Leslie Odom Jr. offering their takes on festive classics. That's preceded by "Showtime at the Apollo: Christmas" hosted by (who else?) Steve Harvey. He's got Snoop Dogg, Fifth Harmony and Boyz II Men.

7 and 8 p.m., KMSP, Ch. 9

Look what you made me watch

You probably won't hear a lot of carols during "The 2017 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball" telecast, but there will be plenty to celebrate with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Demi Lovato performing their latest hits.

7 p.m., WUCW, Ch. 23
