What a great Halloween weekend. How about that big bright moon on Saturday night lighting the way for trick-or-treaters? Kinda misty and shining through spooky dark clouds.
Our s cary supper was a success! Had tohave somethingwarm in theirtummies before we made ourway out the door. And the kids loved helping me make the food.
We made both the Hot dog mummies The mummies were yummy! (btw:the Pillsbury exploding dough was anti-climactic this time it just went pppfffft as I opened it. Not scary at all.)We also made build your own J ack-o-lantern pizzas with pre-made pizza crusts and I cut pepperonis and peppers into shapes to make the face.
After ourscary supperwe took our bunny and bear cub out around the block. Our woodland creatures had a blast. It was fun for us too. It'sgreat to catch up with the neighbors. One is pregnant and due soon, met some new folks with a boy Ben's age -plus they are fellow Iowa alumni ( GoHAWKS !)and another said she keeps up withourgoings onfrom the paper.(She recognized my name in the Sunday paper where Cribsheet is excerpted on thefamily page)
Peter likedchecking outtheneighbors latest home improvement projects.Andwas inspired "Oooh did you see their cove moulding? How about their new entryway?"
Tonight - we are going to save some favorites and thengive the majority of the fun-size bounty to the Great Pumpkin in exchange for something special . (great suggestion thank you Cribsheeters!)Ben pointed out something called a "breakdown train" that he wants to swaphis candy for.He is drawing a picture so the GreatPumpkin will know exactly whathe wants. Vivian likes trains and cars too. She had her eye on aniceyblue Match Box car in thetoy aisle.Done.
My co-workers will make the Great Pumpkins bounty disappear quickly - I'm sure.
If you aren't bringing your stash to hungry colleagues - here are some other ideas on what to do with surplus candy collected from WCCO's Jason DeRusha andMissy, the Marketing Mama.
