
Richardson, Mary Catherine 67, died October 31, 2009 of ovarian cancer at her home in Williamsburg, Virginia surrounded by family and friends. Mary was born in Minneapolis, where she graduated from the Convent of Visitation School. She attended Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Massachusetts, and graduated from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1970, she married the love of her life, Roy Richardson, who preceded her in death in 2008. In addition to raising two children and three step-children in Edina, Minnesota, Mary enjoyed travel, golf, tennis, bowling, and volunteer work. She was the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors of the Edina Country Club. In 1992, Mary and Roy retired to Ford's Colony, Williamsburg, Virginia. She was an active member of the Ford's Colony Ladies' Golf Association, where she served in a variety of roles, including Tournament Director and President. She also served for three years as Director of the Ford's Colony Country Club Membership Association. She was a long-time member of St. Bede's Catholic Church, and later was received as a member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church. Mary is survived by her son Roman Richardson and his wife Joanne; daughter Alexis Guilbert and her husband Shelby; granddaughter, Piper Camille Guilbert; step-daughter Beth Richardson and her children, Ian Allison and Paige Allison; step-daughter Jessica Eubanks, her husband Charles and their daughter Perry Lee; step-son Adam Richardson and his wife Mina; her brother William R. Westphal, Jr.; and her sister Patricia Riley. A memorial service for Mary will be held at Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg at 2 p.m. this Thursday afternoon, November 5th. It will be a full Episcopal service followed by interment with her husband Roy. There will be a reception at 4 p.m. at Ford's Colony Country Club and all are welcome to attend.
