2006: Federated Department Stores renames the Minneapolis store Macy's.
2013: Macy's closes its downtown St. Paul store.
2015: Macy's announces commitment to preserve flagship stores including Minneapolis.
Wednesday: Macy's announces it will sell its downtown Minneapolis store to a New York investment firm for $40 million.
