Wayzata pulled away from host Park Center in overtime for a 64-58 victory in girls basketball. The Class 4A, second-ranked Trojans outscored the Pirates 9-3 in the extra period.
Kallie Theisen led the Trojans with 21 points. Jenna Johnson added 18 points and Annika Stewart 12.
Adalia McKenzie led the Pirates with 16 points, Lauren Frost had 11 points and T'Naye Griffin 10.
Tartan 54, Hastings 42: The Titans overcame a three-point halftime deficit to defeat the host Raiders. Kendra Ekereke led Tartan with 15 points and Ysareia Chevre had 14. Krystal Carlson led Hastings with 20 points and Ashley Frit had 12.
Boys' basketball
Liberty Classical 73, Groves Academy 70 (OT): Ben Horn led the Lions past the Griffins with 22 points. The Griffins rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to force overtime, but were outscored 5-2 in the extra period. Peter Klarr had 17 points, Noah Nelson 16 and Ryan Grill 14 for Liberty Classical. Max Greseth led Groves Academy with 20 points. Malik Bodden added 19 points and Larry Mohamed 12.
Girls' hockey
Stillwater 3, Mahtomedi 2: The Ponies scored three first-period goals to defeat the visiting Class 1A, No. 19 Zephyrs. Lexi Huber got the scoring started at 12 seconds. Lauren Einan extended the lead to 2-0 just 4:30 later. Haley Eder-Zdechlik capped the scoring for the Ponies with 1:15 left in the opening period. Abby Hansen got the Zephyrs' first goal with 4:40 left in the second period. Erika Broten got the Zephyrs to within a goal with 23 seconds left in the game. Olivia Knox stopped 24 shots for the Ponies.
Eastview 4, Prior Lake 3: Kati Quaintance scored three goals in the third period to give the Lighting the victory over the visiting Lakers. Quaintance got her first two goals 1:58 and 6:08 into the final period before getting the game-winner with 2:15 left. Natalie Bordson also scored for the Lightning in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Paige Pavlish got the Lakers' first goal with three minutes left in the first period. Heather Olinger put the Lakers back in front by a goal with 3:10 left in the second period. Katie Huntington gave the Lakers their third one-goal lead 1:57 after Quaintance's first goal of the game. Amelia Julian stopped 26 shots for the Lightning and Hannah Schultz made 32 saves for the Lakers.
Lakeville South 3, Lakeville North 0: Emily Fischler scored two first-period goals to lead the Class 2A, No. 16 Cougars past the host Panthers. Lindsay Maloney scored a goal and Lexi Baker stopped 15 shots for the Cougars.
Boys' hockey
Elk River 2, Maple Grove 1: The Class 2A, No. 10 Elks scored two goals in the second period to defeat the host Crimson. Connor Bizal and Jack Perbix scored 9:02 apart to overcome a one-goal deficit. Bizal and Perbix also had one assist and Zach Michaelis had two assists. Will Peeler got the Crimson on the board first 3:48 into the game. Ethan Haider stopped 40 shots for the Crimson. The Elks finished with a 42-13 edge in shots on goal, including a 20-2 advantage in the second period.
Minnetonka 6, Eden Prairie 3: Bobby Brink had two goals and an assist to lead the Class 2A, No. 1 Skippers past the visiting No. 16 Eagles. Teddy Lagerback, Ryan Elder and Brink scored goals to give the Skippers a 3-0 lead 5:28 in the game. Sam Wilhite got the Eagles on the board 6:46 into the first period. Brink got the lead back to three goals with nine seconds left in the second period. Joe Molenaar scored goals 1:40 and 8:54 into the third period to help the Skippers pull away. Andrew Erwin and Sam Pajor cut into the Skippers lead at the 6:23 and 11:48 marks of the third period for the Eagles. Charlie Glockner stopped 28 shots for the Skippers and Andrew Dietrich made 30 saves for the Eagles.
Champlin Park 4, Osseo 3: Derek Roberts completed a natural hat trick to help the Rebels overcome a two-goal deficit and defeat the visiting Orioles. Roberts scored his first goal with 10 seconds left in the second period to get the Rebels within a goal. He scored at the 8:12 mark of the third period to tie the game and then got the winning goal with 3:39 left. Jack Karges got Champlin Park's first goal 5:26 into the game. Zachary Braasch answered for the Orioles at 15:03. Cooper Goodman and Micah Beisner gave Osseo a two-goal lead late in the second period. Brennan Boynton stopped 30 shots for the Rebels, Ben Kleineschay 32 for the Orioles.
Blake 2, Breck 0: Freshman Aksel Reid stopped 14 shots to shut out the host Class 1A, No. 15 Mustangs. Charlie Ankeny and Aaron Frenkel scored for the Bears.
Stillwater 1, Mahtomedi 0: Noah Tussey scored with 1:44 left in the second period and Jesse Brown stopped 32 shots to give the Ponies the victory over the visiting Class 1A, No. 2 Zephyrs. Bailey Huber stopped 20 shots for Mahtomedi.
Park of Cottage Grove 3, East Ridge 2: The Wolfpack scored three unanswered goals in the third period to defeat the visiting Raptors. Matthew Moreland started the comeback 3:51 into the final period and tied the game with 4:25 left. Keegan Oberding put the Wolfpack ahead for good with 3:07 to play. Marco Troje and Tanner Stafne scored 5:49 apart in the second period for East Ridge. Michael Gille stopped 23 shots for the Wolfpack and Tomy Ogren made 36 saves for the Raptors.
Tartan 3, South St. Paul 2: The Titans scored three goals in the third period to defeat the visiting Packers. Ben Hickey scored the game-winning goal with 28 seconds left. Grant McDonald and Nick Bowlin scored 1:20 apart to tie the game midway through the third period. Jacob Saver got the Packers' first goal 11:35 into the game. Samuel Rohrer extended the Packers' lead to 2-0 at 3:07 into the third period. Joey DiMartino stopped 23 shots for Tartan and Jacob Toensing made 38 saves for South St. Paul.
